Fiasco Awards
New times require new awards. The Fiasco Awards aim to reward the best failed projects, ideas, products or services from any realm within the information and communication technologies (ICT) sector that have been spearheaded, developed or provided by people, groups, institutions or companies.
The spirit of the Fiasco Awards
Technological advancement is not a linear pathway. Despite economic investments, instead of successful products, profitable companies, useful new services or interesting developments, the intellectual efforts and hopes invested often yield veritable fiascos. However, success and failure are part of the same process of advancement; they are flip sides the same coin. We celebrate the former, and once over the initial shock we learn from the latter. Plus, fiascos tend to be awfully fun.
